Your Questions, Answered-
You've been meaning to create a Will or Trust but don't know where to start.
You want to talk about death without having to pretend it's not happening.
You want to understand your choices for end-of-life care.
You have information scattered across your home, computer, or head and want to bring it together.
You want your loved ones to have a clearer idea of your wishes.
You'd benefit from having a small community and some accountability to actually finish what you start.

End-of-life planning is the process of thinking through, communicating, and documenting how you want to be cared for and what matters to you as you approach the end of life. It can include practical matters such as Wills, Trusts, advance directives, powers of attorney, funeral or disposition preferences, and organizing important information for the people who may need it. But planning is also about the human pieces: your values, relationships, spiritual or cultural traditions, personal wishes, and the stories you want to leave behind. It gives you an opportunity to make choices while you are well and able, rather than leaving loved ones to guess during a difficult time.

Anyone who wants to become more prepared for their own death or for the possibility of supporting someone they love. You don't need to be elderly, ill, or facing an immediate end-of-life situation to participate. Anyone who’s interested in end-of-life planning is welcome.

No. While grief and loss may naturally be part of our conversations, The Art of Living & Dying is primarily an educational and preparation experience. We focus on understanding your options, identifying your wishes, organizing important information, and becoming more comfortable having conversations about death and dying.

2 full day retreats. 1-3 hours of individual support with facilitators/professionals, several hours accountability with another member of your cohort. Depending on your specific estate needs, additional “homework” will be discussed on a case-by-case basis, whether it’s to begin or complete a Will or Trust -online or with an attorney which may take hours or days.
However long it takes, in these 4 weeks, you will have professional and peer support to help guide you through.

No. You don't need to have the right words or even know exactly how you feel about death. The purpose of the experience is to create a space where you can explore these topics at your own pace, without judgment. As long as you are okay listening to others talk about this topic, we encourage listening as participation too.
-

The program includes a simple planning binder and guided preparation process. You'll have time to organize your information, clarify your wishes, and prepare for completing your legal documents. If you're using attorney-prepared Will or Trust documents, you'll have an opportunity to complete the signing and notarization process during our final gathering.
