Terms & Conditions

Introduction

Welcome to Heirloom Wellness. By accessing this website or engaging with our services, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms are intended to clearly describe the nature and boundaries of the support we provide, while creating a foundation of respect, care, and shared understanding.

Nature of Services

Heirloom Wellness provides non-medical end-of-life education and doula support, legacy planning and project coordination, life-story and legacy work, organizational support, companionship, ritual and ceremony facilitation, and related services.

Our work is centered on helping individuals and families thoughtfully prepare for life's transitions, explore what matters most, communicate their wishes, organize important information, and create meaningful plans for the people and communities they love.

Our services are educational, supportive, and collaborative in nature. We do not make decisions on behalf of clients or replace licensed professionals.

No Medical Advice or Medical Services

Heirloom Wellness does not provide medical care, nursing services, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, or medical advice.

Any questions regarding medical conditions, treatment options, medications, symptoms, or healthcare decisions should be directed to an appropriately licensed healthcare professional.

End-of-life doula support may complement medical and hospice care, but does not replace it.

No Legal, Financial, Tax, or Insurance Advice

Heirloom Wellness does not provide legal, financial, tax, or insurance advice.

We may provide education, organizational support, and guidance in preparing for conversations with qualified professionals, and may assist clients in understanding and organizing information related to their planning.

We do not act as attorneys, financial advisors, tax professionals, or insurance professionals. Clients are responsible for obtaining professional advice appropriate to their individual circumstances.

Estate Planning Support

Heirloom Wellness may provide educational support and organizational guidance related to estate planning, including helping clients identify questions, understand planning concepts, organize information, and prepare for conversations with an attorney or other qualified professional.

We do not provide legal advice, determine how assets should be distributed, draft legal documents, or guarantee that a Will, Trust, power of attorney, directive, or other legal document is valid or appropriate for a client's circumstances.

Where legal documents are involved, clients should work with a licensed attorney or other appropriately qualified professional.

No Mental Health or Crisis Services

Heirloom Wellness provides compassionate companionship and supportive space for reflection, grief, and life transitions. These services are not psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, counseling, crisis intervention, or other licensed mental health services.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or require clinical support, please seek assistance from an appropriately licensed mental health professional or emergency service.

Funeral, Burial, and Cremation Services

Heirloom Wellness is not a funeral home, funeral establishment, cemetery, crematory, or licensed funeral director.

We may provide organizational support, planning assistance, education, or coordination related to memorials, rituals, ceremonies, and other end-of-life wishes. Services requiring a specific professional license remain the responsibility of the client and their chosen licensed providers.

Client Autonomy & Participation

Clients remain responsible for their own decisions regarding healthcare, estate planning, end-of-life care, memorials, legacy projects, and other personal matters.

Heirloom Wellness provides education, guidance, companionship, and organizational support, but does not make decisions on behalf of clients, their families, healthcare teams, attorneys, or other professionals.

Clients are encouraged to communicate their wishes with the people and professionals who may be responsible for carrying them out.

Payment & Scheduling

Fees, payment schedules, deposits, cancellation policies, rescheduling policies, and other service-specific terms will be provided before services begin.

Certain services or programs may require a signed agreement and/or completed enrollment process before participation is confirmed.

Confidentiality & Privacy

Heirloom Wellness treats client information with care and discretion. Information shared during services will not knowingly be disclosed to third parties except with the client's authorization, when necessary to coordinate services as agreed upon, or when disclosure is required or permitted by law.

Clients should understand that electronic communications and online platforms may carry inherent privacy and security risks.

Community & Inclusivity

Heirloom Wellness welcomes individuals and families across cultures, backgrounds, faiths, spiritual traditions, gender identities, family structures, and personal beliefs.

We recognize that there is no single way to understand death, dying, grief, family, spirituality, or legacy. Our role is not to prescribe a particular belief system, but to create space for clients to explore and express what is meaningful to them.

Limitation of Responsibility

Heirloom Wellness provides services on a good-faith and best-effort basis within the scope described above.

Heirloom Wellness is not responsible for decisions, actions, omissions, or outcomes resulting from the independent decisions of clients, family members, healthcare providers, attorneys, financial professionals, funeral providers, or other third parties.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to create a professional relationship that requires a license or credential not held by Heirloom Wellness.

Heirloom Wellness may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this website and will become effective upon publication unless otherwise stated.
